The Challenge Presented Today

In 2018, highly controversial immigration realities, politics, and conflicts increasingly influence our elections, weigh on our economy, and cause us to question our understanding of American values. The decisions of millions of workers and families are affected, while commercial and civic endeavors throughout the country grapple with uncertainty.

The consequences are profound, and global in their implications.

As raw, often offensive rhetoric intensifies, attitudes harden, divisions deepen, families are forcibly separated, and children are lost. Their trauma sears the conscience of all Americans.

Over a million deserving young DREAMers, and a half a million people from throughout the Americas to whom past Administrations granted temporary protected status (TPS), must now confront a dramatic new reality: that our government has terminated their rights to remain here lawfully, after years of contributions made, children raised, and laws obeyed. Their lives are upended, and their employers, relatives, communities, neighbors are all shaken.
